The best part? It’s a fully remote position with a flexible schedule of 24 hours per week, Monday through Thursday. You tell us what hours work best for you within traditional daytime business hours. Responsibilities

The Details...

 

In this role you will provide integral support within a subset team of People Operations to an assigned set of client engagements. This position primarily oversees the payroll functions of clients of varying sizes and across varied geographical locations. They ensure that client payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. Within the pod-style team format, the People Operations Associate also provides general support to the People Operations Partner in the scope of human resources to ensure streamlined service and coverage for the team’s client base.

 

 

Generally, duties include:

  • Implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates in coordination with People Operations Partner
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports of payroll transactions and other payroll-related data as requested
  • Registering new state and local tax accounts as needed and maintaining information within payroll system
  • May reconcile and pay benefits-related invoices and process other benefits-related transactions (401K, flexible spending, etc.) independently or in tandem with assigned broker
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
  • Facilitating audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Overseeing end of year payroll and tax-related processes including review and distribution of W-2 documents
  • Communicating with client team members to educate and answer questions pertaining to payroll matters
  • Providing general support to the People Operations Partner as delegated to support the team’s client base in the following areas:
  • Talent acquisition
  • Employee onboarding and offboarding
  • Compliance and change management
  • Benefits program management
  • Performance management, team culture, & recognition
  • Any other delegated administrative HR functions

  • You have extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • You have a highly proactive and independent work style, but also can team and collaborate effectively as needed
  • You have professional maturity and interpersonal finesse
  • You have solid problem-solving and analytical skills
  • People would describe you as highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • You’re comfortable with acclimating to and “owning” different payroll technologies

Qualifications

What You’ve Done...

  • Attained a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Have 5+ years of payroll processing under your belt.
  • If you have experience with client-facing payroll service across different states and industries you’re definitely a rockstar!
  • Exposure to or experience with general human resources functions strongly desired.
