Position Overview

CWT Meetings & Events is seeking a Sourcing Specialist

Position Description

Strategic Meetings Management Support

  • Utilization of CWT or client meetings technology to source and support Venue Sourcing Solutions

  • Conduct hotel space searches for 100% of workload through Cvent.

  • Complete understanding of the functionality of Cvent in order to advise/educate clients.

  • Negotiate best possible rates and program concessions for the component of SMM Procurement, leveraging client-supplier relationships, and utilizing processes and procedures outlined in the client agreements.

  • Be knowledgeable of the client(s) contracting process and legal addendums

  • Provide guidance and offer recommendations to team members not actively involved in SMM Procurement on a daily basis.

  • Build and maintain strong client knowledge by attending regularly scheduled calls to further define and improve processes and procedures.

Destination Expertise

  • Stay current on industry trends, through internal and external training.

  • Attend regular supplier presentations.

  • Participate in weekly team meetings.

Communication

  • Ensure the client is appropriately informed of and represented in all terms and conditions contained in the client contract process and their legal addendums

  • Proactively escalate potential client or supplier issues to manager/Account Director/IR for resolution.

  • Fully support the larger Strategic Travel & Event Procurement Team through workload sharing, and brainstorming.

  • Works collaboratively across teams to ensure a seamless flow of information that supports client use of multiple CWT services.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Experience & Education:

Experience

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Minimum 3 years of current relative Sourcing and Meeting Planning experience required.

  • College diploma or degree in a related field.

  • CMP designation / Formal project management designation/training are assets.

Languages

  • Fluent in English

  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of web-based registration tools is a plus.

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft office suite.

  • Proven negotiating skills.

  • Strong financial acumen.

  • Strong multi-tasker who works well under pressure.

  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

  • Proven ability in project management.
